Ella’s Kitchen Carrots, Apples and Parsnips Review

ellaskitchen apples parsnips

Stage 1 food for 4 months and above

Taste: Superb! It almost tastes like apple sauce, sweet with a touch of sourness.

We all agree that organic food is the best for our babies and that organic food that tastes good is even better. Ella’s Kitchen Organic Carrots, Apples and Parsnips Stage 1 baby food is organic and delicious. Let’s talk about its packaging, taste and the nutritional value.

All Ella’s Kitchen baby food is packaged in eye catching easy to use pouches. The colors are bright and inviting. It is easy to take a pouch and squirt it into a baby’s bowl for feeding. The orange color of carrot, apple, parsnip food is exciting and makes you think yummy carrots right away!

The taste doesn’t taste like carrots though. It is more like a sweet apple sauce. Parsnip’s taste, in case you are worried about it, is undetectable, and that’s a good thing. Babies might question the taste of parsnip! However, the nutritional benefits of carrots, parsnips and apples are all there.

Talking about nutrition, everybody knows that carrots have loads of vitamin A that is good for your eyes. Your baby’s vision is still developing so carrots is the food you want to feed your little one.  Carrots are also rich in dietary fiber, antioxidants, and minerals.

Apples are high in fiber and antioxidants and the yummy apple sauce taste is irresistible. Apples are known to have all kinds of health benefits so your baby should regularly consume this healthy fruit.

Last but not least is parsnip.  Parsnip is very healthy for your baby too. They are related to carrots (look like them, actually, but parsnips are white in color) and have a buttery, slightly spicy sweet flavor when cooked. The flavor can be a little overwhelming if parsnip is to be eaten alone. Parsnip is very rich in potassium and high in dietary fiber.

It was a great idea to combine the two healthy root vegetables with a delicious and beneficial fruit. The outcome is a very yummy pure which is flavorful and nutritious. Your baby will enjoy it.

BeechNut Homestyle Whole Grain Oats with Raspberries Review

Stage 3 food for 8 months and above

Taste: Excellent! Flavorful, with a bit of zing, smooth.

Beech Nut’s Whole grain Oats with Raspberries is very healthy indeed and it is an improvement in taste from previously produced Whole Grain Oats Cereal with Raspberries with DHA.

It is  a whole grain cereal. Whole grains are cereal grains that retain the bran and germ as well as the endosperm, in contrast to refined grains, which retain only the endosperm. This cereal is made with whole oat flour so it has greater amount of dietary fiber which benefits baby’s developing digestive system. Raspberries have very high content of fiber as well. They are high in vitamin C and are loaded with antioxidants.

However, if your baby has a preference for sweeter foods she might not like this cereal due to its sourish taste.  This cereal has a  sourish taste of raspberries. If mixed with other sweeter fruit, like  bananas, it can be quite a treat!

When opened cereal has to be refrigerated and used within three days.

Ingredients

Enfamil Premium Infant Formula Review

Stage: infant 0-12 months

Base ingredient: milk

Taste: ok

Features: Natural Defense Dual Prebiotics, increased amount of Iron, DHA, ARA.

If you are looking for a reliable and safe baby formula to formula feed or supplement with formula while breast feeding, Enfamil Premium Infant formula might just be your answer. It is a great milk based formula for healthy babies who do not have colic issues or who are not allergic to milk. Clinical studies showed that this formula promotes baby’s healthy growth, strengthens baby’s immune system and enhances brain and eye development. The taste might not be too great, but the nutritional benefits are considerable. It has more iron than most other formulas. In addition to its great nutritional value, Enfamil Premium Infant formula comes with new Natural Defense Dual Prebiotics. The theory is that majority of your baby’s  immune system is located in his digestive track. This formula has dual prebiotic system that feeds the good bacteria found naturally in your baby’s digestive tract. The new studies suggest that added prebiotics might support your baby’s developing immune system.

Formula is available in a few different forms and sizes. Powder formulas come in  23.4 oz reusable BPA-free tubs (pictured above),35 oz refill boxes that contain 2 - 17.5 oz pouches, 12.5 oz can, and single-serve powder packs for your convenience. The refill boxes are money savers. You just buy a refill and use the same original plastic tub. Some parents complain about the resealable bag inside the reusable tub container that is supposed to keep formula fresh. It is hard to measure and scoop formula powder, especially formula gets to the bottom of the bag. Formula powder gets all over the hands and that is not the most pleasant thing when you have a screaming baby in your hands.  This formula also comes in a ready-to-use liquid 32 fl oz and 8 fl oz cans, and 6 fl oz  bottles. You can also get a 13 fl oz concentrate liquid formula.
