PRODUCT REVIEW
When you think about it, despite disbelief, you
come to realize that your little one is not all that little
any longer and has reached a stage where she can eat solids.
You might still remember that real tiny one, lying there
helpless, staring at you the day you brought her from the
hospital. But time has flown, as they say "Time and Tide
wait for no Man" , and here you are with a crawling baby
already. There are some important things to consider when
you introduce solids to your little one.
Starting into solids with a single grain cereal is a good
way to introduce solids to babies. You are avoiding the risk
of allergic reaction on some children towards certain
grains. By using a single grain cereal you would be able to
pinpoint the problem right away without second guessing.
Also now is the time where you need to make sure that all
the necessary vitamins and minerals are given to the baby.
BeechNut Rice Cereal is a good source of Iron, Zinc, Calcium
and Vitamin C. Iron helps the red blood cell count and the
vitamin C helps absorb the iron. Calcium for strong bones
and Zinc for a better immune system.
Also this cereal do contain B-complex vitamins in the
ingredients list. B1, B2, B6 and B12 and folic acid as well.
Having 25 percent of the daily value of the B complex
vitamins is certainly a plus. This has 45% of the daily
value of Iron. But we have noticed that some babies has the
tendency to develop constipation if the iron is taken along
with the cereal. Then you need to look for a cereal that
does not contain Iron or has very little quantities. If you
have problems you can always add some prunes foods to the
diet.
The BeechNut Rice cereal is also free of Soy. Some children
are allergic to soy, so this may be the right choice for you
if your little one does not like soy.
Overall, this product receives a rating of "Good" and a
taste rating of "Very Delicious"!
